TECHNOLOGY & AI ADVISORY FOR SIGNAL BASED DECISIONS

FLTRBNK

SIGNAL>NOISE

There is a lot of noise around technology. Too little of it is measurable. FLTRBNK establishes the baseline, identifies value signals, and provides the tools to act on them.

The assessment

Before you commission diligence, find out what it would probably find.

Five questions. You get a situational read on the asset, the three things worth looking at first, and what would answer them.

01 — The situation

Most technology assessments are loud, not useful.

Every investment case arrives with a story: the platform is modern, the team is strong, the AI opportunity is transformational. The signal underneath is harder to hear.

Management narratives
AI hype
Roadmap optimism
Vendor claims

02 — Approach

Baseline → Potential → Change

  1. 01

    Baseline

Establish what is technically and operationally true today. Product reality, architecture, engineering capability, AI economics, security and delivery risk.

  2. 02

    Potential

Identify where technology, product, AI or organisational capability can create significant business results and what is likely to be difficult.

  3. 03

    Change

Translate the assessment into a practical transformation agenda: strategy, operating model, leadership, architecture decisions and prioritisation.

04 — Three ways in

How engagements are shaped

Technical due diligence

Deal teams. Pre-LOI and confirmatory.

2 to 4 weeks

Value creation

Operating partners, across a holding.

Up to 12 months

Transformation

Boards whose day-to-day has swallowed the change agenda.

6 to 9 months

One senior operator, not a pyramid. You get the person who did the work.

05 — Situations

Situational awareness comes from situations.

I do not sell a method. I know the tools and the methods, and I choose the ones your situation needs. That judgement comes from having been in five of them.

Legacy modernisation

Set path for a 25-year-old enterprise product as a cloud-native AI platform, with the organisation rebuilt alongside it.

Hypergrowth scaling

Engineering organisations growing faster than their ability to stay coherent.

Carve-out under transaction pressure

Technical due diligence run from inside the asset, while it was being sold.

Post-merger integration

Acquired teams and acquired code, integrated into a platform that already existed running millions of active users.

Founding

From first line of code to scale, owning product, technology, and unit economics as one system.

06 — Point of view

A few things that tend to be true.

AI is not a strategy.

A roadmap is not delivery capability.

Architecture matters when it changes economics.

Technical debt is not automatically bad debt.

Automation without process optimization rarely creates value.

A transformation with no end date is a hire, not a mandate.

07 — About

Stevan Lazic

Founder, FLTRBNK

Portrait of Stevan Lazic, founder of FLTRBNK

FLTRBNK is Stevan Lazic.

Twenty years as an engineering and product leader. Most recently rebuilding a 25-year-old product and the organisation around it into a cloud-native AI platform, then leaving on completion.

Before that, VP of Software Engineering and then CTO at AutoScout24: a  multimillion technology budget, 125+ engineers across multiple sites, and technical due diligence through the sale to Hellman & Friedman.

Co-founder and CTO/CPO of a bootstrapped food platform built across Berlin and New York. Transformation mandates at Babbel and AMBOSS. Director of Engineering at Just Eat Takeaway.com and Chegg. And for eight years before that, co-founder and CEO of a boutique software agency, which is where I learned what a small senior team can do for accounts such as Volkswagen, Telekom, Cornelsen and more, that a large one cannot.

FLTRBNK is the consequence of that last transformation. The same playbook and adaptive experience, run for other people's portfolios.
